5th Annual Integrative Biology Convocation

This ceremony is for graduating seniors, Master's and doctoral candidates in curricula under the auspices of the School of Integrative Biology. It is in addition to the campuswide ceremony in the Assembly Hall. Doctoral candidates may be hooded at either or both ceremonies. A reception will immediately follow in the lobby.
Dr. Rick Lindroth will deliver the Convocation address. Dr. Lindroth received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1984 from the Department of Ecology, Ethology and Evolution (currently the Department of Animal Biology). He is a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, affiliated with the Department of Entomology, Department of Zoology, the Molecular and Environmental Toxicology Center, and the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Dr. Lindroth has been very productive for over 20 years on a diverse array of ecological and evolutionary questions, with a focus on plant-herbivore interactions. Recently he was awarded the Silverstein-Simeone Lecture award by the International Society for Chemical Ecology due to his pioneering contributions to the chemistry of global change and chemistry of genes to ecosystems ecology.
Tickets ARE required for this event. Tickets are limited to eight per student and may be picked up in 286 Morrill Hall, Monday through Thursday, May 11-14, between the hours of 1:00 and 4:30 PM. Additional tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis on Friday, May 15, from 8:30 AM to noon or 1:00 to 4:30 PM.
Eligibility: August and December 2008 graduates and May 2009 degree candidates are eligible to participate in this formal ceremony. August 2009 B.S. or M.S. degree candidates are also eligible to participate. Please note that Ph.D. candidates must have their dissertation on file in the Graduate College by May 8.

Graduates are to order academic regalia (cap and gown) online from Herff Jones no later than 11:59 pm, April 20. If you miss this deadline, please contact the SIB office.
A professional photographer, Chappell Graduation Images, will be taking pictures. A proof will be sent to the email address provided by the graduate with no obligation to purchase. Additional pictures may be ordered online.
