Lily Hart

Entomology Graduate Student -- Advisor: Ed DeWalt

Biography

My entomological journey began my last semester of my undergraduate career, volunteering in the Illinois Natural History Survey Insect Collection. After I graduated, I loved it so much that I kept showing up to pin and label insect specimens. Eventually I was hired as an Insect Collection Assistant and also began working with Dr. Ed DeWalt (state Aquatic Entomologist @ INHS) conducting fieldwork and managing specimens. Six years later, I am excited to begin a M.S. in Entomology!

Research Interests

Insect Collection Management, Conservation Biology, Systematics

Research Description

My research will concentrate on the stonefly fauna of Arkansas, their life histories and distributions. I will be focusing on species that are critically imperiled in order to set up an effective wildlife management plan.
