Research Interests

My research focuses on the biogeography and taxonomy of stoneflies and caddisflies of the eastern Nearctic. In particular, I focus on how stonefly distributions have been altered over the past several centuries by landscape-level anthropogenic impacts within the midwestern, USA. I also am attempting to identify how a genus of small-bodied, poorly dispersing winter stoneflies (Allocapnia) diversified and colonized the upper midwest, a formerly glaciated landscape, following the deglaciation of the late Pleistocene.
