Hannah Caraway Feldt obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Integrative Biology with Honors and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois in 2023. She is currently pursuing an MD at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Hannah is a first-year medical student at the Southern Illinois School of Medicine. She is finishing up her first year and has greatly enjoyed the experience, which includes learning cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, reproductive, endocrinology, and gastrointestinal physiology, as well as biochemistry, genetics, and behavioral science. Additionally, she has gained hands-on experience in suturing, ultrasound, and diagnosing patients in real-time. While she is currently interested in a career in the hospital in-patient setting, she is keeping her options open as she continues her education.
Hannah's Integrative Biology degree has set her up for success at the medical/graduate level by honing her critical thinking skills, resiliency, and love of learning. The broad knowledge base from IB core classes has been incredibly helpful in her medical studies. Personally, she has made lifelong friends with both students and professors, enriching her life significantly.
Hannah is eager to connect with current IB students and is open to engaging in informational interviews, answering career-related questions, and offering mentorship. She looks forward to sharing her experiences and insights to help students find their way through their educational and professional paths.
