Alumni Profile: Jemima Elsherbini

Jemima graduated with her degree in Integrative Biology in 2020. You may have seen her in our IB advising office if you came in to visit us from 2018-2020, since she was one of our receptionists!

During undergrad Jemima also did undergraduate research Tan lab and Ainsworth labs. While working in the Tan lab, Jemima worked on developing a phylogeny for the catfish superfamily Aspredinoidea and is publishing a paper on the findings of analyzing the modularity and morphology of the superfamily. In the Ainsworth lab, Jemima investigated the effect of air pollution on crops such as soybeans and maize.

She is currently a graduate student working with plant-pollinator interactions, specifically the monkeyflowers and bees, in the Carr lab. She will also be working as a Teaching Assistant for Ecology in the Fall.
